Negroni
A Negroni is the most popular cocktail in the country, with the highest search volume in Richmond. This classic Italian cocktail is made with equal parts gin, sweet vermouth, and bitter. A NIO Great Taste 2* Negroni is typically served on the rocks in an Old Fashioned glass, garnished with a slice of orange. The combination of the bitter Campari and sweet multi awarded Cocchi Storico Vermouth di Torino, along with the botanicals in Gin Tanqueray, creates a complex and premium version that has been enjoyed by cocktail enthusiasts for decades.
Espresso Martini
With its rich coffee flavour an Espresso Martini is the second most popular cocktail in the country, with the highest search volume in Tewkesbury, England. This delicious and energising cocktail is made with vodka, espresso, and coffee liqueur. The ingredients are combined in a cocktail shaker with ice, then strained into a chilled Martini glass. The Espresso Martini is a perfect after-dinner drink for all coffee lovers.
Pina Colada
A Piña Colada is the third most popular cocktail in the country, with the highest search volume in Manchester. This tropical cocktail is made with rum, coconut cream, and pineapple juice, blended with ice to create a frothy, refreshing drink. The Piña Colada is typically served in a tall glass with a straw, garnished with a wedge of pineapple and a maraschino cherry.
Methodology:
NIO Cocktails sought to discover the most popular cocktails in cities and regions across the country ahead of World Cocktail Day.
To do this, an analysis was conducted having referred to Restaurant Ware, All Recipes and A Couple Cooks to create a unique seedlist of the most popular cocktails.
To determine how popular each cocktail is, NIO Cocktails analysed Google search volume data in the United Kingdom.
Using Google Trends (trends.google.com) NIO searched each cocktail name to combine the data over the past 12 months looking at the “City” searching for the cocktails the most.
The data was collected on May 4th 2023 and is accurate as of then and therefore is subject to change.
