BBC Radio 2’s drivetime broadcaster Nigel Barden and hotelier Janet Simpson have cooked up an evening extravaganza of foodie fun to raise funds for flood-hit businesses and residents in Whalley and Billington.
The fund-raising evening takes place on April 29th – with proceeds going to the Whalley and District Lions Flood Appeal.
Tickets are £55 each or £500 for a table of 10 and the evening will include the chance to win some spectacular prizes and enjoy a superb three course dinner.
The money being raised will be used to support the most vulnerable in both Whalley and Billington such as the elderly, families with young children and those not covered by insurance.
Whalley & District Lions are giving grants of up to £500 which are being awarded to many people who have lost the essential items needed to live safely and comfortably, but much more help is needed so fund-raising is set to continue throughout the year.
After dinner speaker Nigel, a Lancastrian by birth, will entertain guests with tales from his busy life as a food writer and broadcaster and his role as Chairman of Judges for the Great Taste Awards, Farm Shop & Deli Awards, World Cheese Awards and a keen advocate of British ingredients and artisan producers.
